The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said it intercepted around 900,000 opioid pills in Kano State’s Sabon Gari district.

In a statement made on Sunday in Abuja, the agency’s spokesperson, Mr Femi Babafemi, stated that two suspects were apprehended on April 9.

According to Babafemi, another 48-year-old suspect was caught in Calabar’s Essit Ebum neighbourhood on April 9 with 39.4kg of cannabis sativa.

He stated that NDLEA agents on patrol on the Owerri-Onitsha route in Imo apprehended a logistics truck with the registration number JGB 403XB on Friday.

According to Babafemi, following a thorough search, 230 blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 119kg and concealed under household goods were discovered on the suspect.
