Despite being overseas, the singer surprised his “African Queen” with bundles of cash and a bouquet of roses, sparking a flurry of reactions on social media.
Davido took to his Instagram story to share glimpses of Chioma holding a bag filled with cash and posing with the roses, which she used to cover her face. The lavish gifts from the superstar have ignited discussions online, with some questioning Chioma’s endurance of Davido’s alleged infidelity due to his wealth.
Among the comments, one user, Prudence Akogwu, quipped,
She will cry on the roses, then use the money to wipe her tears.” Others compared Chioma to Annie Idibia, a reference to the challenges faced by celebrity spouses.
Despite the mixed reactions, Chioma’s unwavering support for Davido has been evident. Recently, amidst controversy surrounding intimate photos with other women, Chioma stood by Davido’s side at his performance in Madison Square Garden, showcasing a united front.
The scandal erupted when a US model, Bonita Maria, shared intimate photos and videos of herself with Davido, leading to backlash from Nigerians. Subsequently, Gorgeous Doll, another individual involved, claimed ignorance of Davido’s marital status, attributing her actions to intoxication.
In response, Davido’s associate, Israel DMW, clarified that the photos were taken three years ago, seeking to mitigate the fallout from the controversy.
