There was a minor drama yesterday when electricity was cut while Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, was speaking in the National Assembly.
Adelabu was answering senators’ questions during the Senate Committee on Power’s investigative hearing on “the need to halt the increase in the price of electricity”.
However, electricity was restored shortly after.
Speaking about the power outage, Eyinnaya Abaribe, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Power, stated that the minister’s statement on the country’s steady electricity was concerning.
“You see what just happened. This is what we all experience. We the Senators experience it too and I am sure even the President does experience it at the Villa, just that he cannot speak out like we are,” he stated.
