Justin Dean, the ex-husband of Nigerian-American dancer and entertainer Korra Obidi, has issued a stern warning to her, threatening legal consequences if she continues to spread lies about him.
In a post on his Instagram story, Dean stated his intention to file a restraining order and possibly seek jail time for Obidi if she persists in making false accusations.
Lies are over! Restraining order and jail time possible if my ex speaks more lies. The reign of terror is over. Let peace reign,” Dean wrote, emphasizing his desire to end the ongoing conflict.
This development has sparked various reactions from netizens. One user, Mahdiya Mohammed, commented on the impact of the conflict on their children, saying,
I don’t know how love turns to hate. Me I pray to God not be in this situation ever. It is so draining to even your kids, you guys should just have a talk and sit down and understand that your kids will grow up and see all this.”
Others, like Florence Julius, accused Dean of being unable to move on, while another user, Kasarachic, expressed frustration with both parties, saying,
The both of them should get lost abeg. Are they the only ones with divorce issues?”
Korra Obidi recently started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her legal fees after Dean obtained image rights protection from Meta, preventing her from featuring their children on Facebook. She called on celebrities to help, stating that Dean’s actions threaten her livelihood as a content creator.
The couple’s tumultuous relationship has been public since Dean filed for divorce in March 2022, shortly after the birth of their second child. The divorce, finalized on November 19, 2022, resulted in joint custody of their two daughters. Throughout the process, both parties made serious accusations against each other, including Dean’s attempt to gain full custody of the children and Obidi’s claims that he sought spousal support despite her bearing the financial responsibilities.
In recent weeks, Dean accused Obidi of infidelity during her pregnancy, while Obidi shared that she has endured silent suffering for two years since their divorce, expressing relief at being away from Dean and confidence that she will receive help.
