The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCom) rescued two Nigerian girls who had been trafficked to Ghana for prostitution.

The NIDCom Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, acknowledged this in a statement published by the commission’s Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.

Recall that the commission rescued 11 Nigerian girls who were transported to Ghana for prostitution last week.

Dabiri-Erewa stated that the two girls rescued by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Ghana, led by the Chairman, BOT, Chief Calistus, are now in safe care.

She also renewed her demand for united efforts to eradicate human trafficking in all of its forms, which is another type of modern-day slavery.

Dabiri-Erewa said that although both females live in Lagos State, one is from Edo State and the other is from Lagos.

She also mentioned that plans will be put in place to return them to Nigeria and turn them over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Human Trafficking (NAPTIP).
