Ginika, the ex-wife of Davido’s media aide, Israel DMW, has spoken out against accusations that she played a role in the breakdown of Israel’s marriage to Sheila.
Responding to the allegations, Ginika took to her Instagram page to clarify her position and defend her innocence.
In the wake of Israel DMW’s public meltdown over his failed marriage, where he pointed fingers at Ginika for contributing to the separation, Ginika has decided to set the record straight.
Taking to Instagram, Ginika expressed her surprise at being implicated in the marital issues between Israel and Sheila. She explained that upon hearing about the couple’s troubles, she reached out to understand what had gone wrong, given her close friendship with Sheila.
When I heard the news of my friend’s crashed marriage, I was surprised and called to find out what happened,” Ginika wrote. “Initially, I advised that the issues be resolved as I had no prior knowledge of what was actually going on. But as things started to unfold, it became clear that Sheila was mentally drained and wasn’t going back.”
Ginika emphasized her role as a supportive friend rather than a disruptor. She reiterated her innocence, stating,
I had no hand in the separation between my friend Sheila and her ex-husband. All claims against me are wrong, and I hope it can be seen in a different light as it has affected my mental health and work over the last couple of months.”
Israel DMW and Sheila’s marriage ended amidst accusations of irreconcilable differences and alleged domestic violence.
Israel had previously debunked news of physical assault, claiming instead that Sheila had tried to change him to fit her standards and had shamed him financially. Sheila countered these claims, revealing that Israel had spoiled her and her family to mask his flaws.
Following their separation, Israel issued a public warning to men to stay away from his estranged wife, Sheila, and legally married women in general. He also publicly appealed to Sheila to properly return her bride price, emphasizing that their marriage, conducted under customary acts, could only be dissolved by a Federal High Court after two years.
Ginika’s statement not only aims to clear her name but also highlights the personal toll these accusations have taken on her.
