Media aide to Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has criticized Sophia Momodu for using Davido’s tragic loss as a reason to deny him custody of their daughter.
Expressing his views on Instagram, Ossai highlighted the insensitivity of using the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, as a justification in their custody dispute.
I’m disappointed in Sophia Momodu’s decision to cite Davido’s tragic loss as a reason to deny him custody of their daughter. Using the death of his son as a justification is insensitive and unacceptable, given the pain and grief the family has experienced,” Ossai wrote.
He emphasized the need to handle custody battles with empathy and respect, rather than exploiting such a sensitive topic. While he supports Sophia’s right to seek custody through legal channels, he strongly believes that invoking the death of Davido’s son is inappropriate and lacks compassion.
Sophia Momodu recently filed a 102-paragraph affidavit opposing Davido’s request for joint custody. She cited reasons including Ifeanyi’s death, Davido’s controversial lifestyle, and his alleged use of their daughter to retaliate against her.
Davido responded by criticizing Sophia for repeatedly bringing up the death of his son to hurt him, asserting that their daughter would grow up understanding the struggles he faced to be part of her life.
The conflict between Davido and Sophia intensified after Davido publicly declared his love for his now-wife, Chioma Rowland, which led to Sophia accusing him of financial abuse and venting her frustrations on social media.
