Nigerian comedian and content creator Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus or Mr. Funny, shared a heartfelt testimony following the release of his kidnapped father.
In a social media post, Sabinus expressed immense gratitude to God for his father’s safe return. He reflected on the ordeal, questioning how he would have managed to pay the ransom without divine intervention. Sabinus made light of the situation by noting the irony that the kidnappers might be watching his skits and laughing. “Kidnappers wey go carry my papa fit still watch my video dey laugh. This life sha, but we bless God for providing unless how I wan pay ransom. By now e for he so sorry I for dey hear. Thank you, Lord,” he wrote.
Fans and followers rejoiced with Sabinus in the comment section:
– Nwendu Godson: “You are so lucky. Mine didn’t make it. They left us a lifeless body to bury.”
– Rtec20: “Thank God he has been released.”
– Adeleke4golden: “Dem fit still use the money buy table for ur next show come watch u.”
– Unstoppable Abt: “Na PH people them come collect money for table when them take enter ur show.”

Sabinus’s experience echoes the harsh realities many face in Nigeria. Earlier this year, BBNaija star Phyna shared her narrow escape from kidnappers in Delta State. In 2022, socialite Cubana Chief Priest also survived an attack by unknown gunmen in Anambra, with his convoy left riddled with bullets. Despite these harrowing incidents, the resilience and gratitude displayed by those affected offer a glimmer of hope amidst adversity.
