Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, a former governor of Zamfara State, has urged his political opponents to cease sponsoring a wanted bandit, Bello Turji, as it is harming his name and character.
On Sunday, the office of the Minister, State, Ministry of Defence published a statement.
Matawalle accused some members of the Zamfara State administration of skewing the narrative of the state’s insecurity concerns against him.
Matawalle’s statement was in response to a viral video clip on social media platforms that linked him to banditry in Zamfara state.
According to the statement, the Minister particularly accused the governing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration in the State of attempting to ruin his reputation, stating that his hands were clean.
Matawalle said:
“Bello Turji’s audio was unprofessionally synchronised with his video to accuse the former governor of injustice in the conduct of the reconciliation by the then Zamfara State government.
“However, the video/audio editor unprofessionally disqualified his work so much that one can vividly notice the failure of the audio and video clips to simultaneously synchronise.”
