Nollywood actress Motilola Akinlami has expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of her dear friend, Kenny, who stood by her during a tumultuous period involving actor Kunle Afod and his wife, Desola Afod.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Motilola shared a picture of the late Kenny and reminisced about his unwavering support.
Motilola recounted how Kenny defended her when he was asked to blacklist her from his movie amidst her conflicts with Kunle Afod and Desola Afod. Despite the pressure, Kenny chose to honor his commitment and continue working with her on his production. He demonstrated loyalty and integrity, traits that Motilola deeply cherished.
In her emotional tribute, Motilola bid an emotional goodbye to Kenny, highlighting his admirable qualities and expressing gratitude for his kindness and friendship. She described Kenny as living like a “candle in the wind,” whose light, though extinguished too soon, will continue to shine through his creative work.

Motilola’s tribute also brought to light her past issues with Kunle Afod and Desola Afod. She had previously called them out for sabotaging her career, accusing Kunle Afod of blocking opportunities for her within the industry. In a detailed video, she shared her struggles and the ill-treatment she received from her colleagues due to Kunle Afod’s interference, naming actors like Femi Adebayo and Joke Jigan who were influenced against her.
