Nigerian comedian and skit maker Mark Angel has finally addressed the serious allegations made by former collaborator Denilson Igwe.
Denilson, who previously worked as a cinematographer and was a key player in the early days of Mark Angel Comedy, recently appeared on *The Honest Bunch Podcast* to discuss his grievances.
Denilson accused Mark Angel of several unfair practices, including monetizing a Facebook page without informing the team. He claimed that Mark Angel, initially employed as a security guard, used the page to generate substantial earnings—reportedly $160,000 monthly—while the rest of the crew was kept in the dark. Denilson also alleged that Mark lied about purchasing a vehicle in 2014 as a gift and paid prominent child comedian Emmanuella a monthly salary of just 20,000 Naira, despite the page’s lucrative income.
Denilson’s remarks extended to claims about Emmanuella’s living conditions, stating that despite her publicized success and claims of owning a house, she and Aunty Success still reside in Mark Angel’s property.
Reacting to these allegations, Mark Angel took a subdued approach by simply liking Denilson’s post on Instagram. This response has been interpreted by many as a form of silent acknowledgment.
Denilson also presented a contract to support his claim about Emmanuella’s salary. The document outlined a monthly upkeep payment of 20,000 Naira and detailed the manager’s responsibilities towards the artist. It specified that a guardian, Barr. (Mrs.) Jacinta O. Chinkere-Nwogu, would handle issues related to Emmanuella, including international travel.
Denilson’s exposé has stirred significant debate within the entertainment industry and among fans, with many questioning the transparency of financial dealings and the management of young talent.
