Kanyinsola Ajayi and Favour Ashe advanced to the men’s 100m semi-finals at the 2024 Olympic Games on Saturday.

The pair are making their debut at the Olympic Games.

Ajayi won Heat 5 in 10.02 seconds, with Olympics champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs coming in second at 10.05.

Third place went to Ghana’s Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, who ran 10.06 seconds.

Ashe finished fourth in Heat 4, trailing Jamaica’s Oblique Seville, Japan’s Abdul Hakim Sani Brown, and Thailand’s Thurpool Bonboon.

Ashe, on the other hand, clinched the final non-automatic position and advanced to the semis.

Adaku Nwandu finished second in Heat 6 of the women’s 50m Freestyle, trailing Elizaveta Pecherskikh.

The 16-year-old, unfortunately, did not make it to the final.
