Nollywood actor Alesh Sanni has added his voice to the many Nigerians expressing frustration over the worsening economic situation in the country.

In a candid Instagram post, Sanni highlighted the stark contrast between the cost of goods in the United States and Nigeria, particularly focusing on the outrageous fees associated with clearing imported items.

Using a car purchase as an example, Sanni explained,

For real. E no just make sense anymore. Person go buy car of $12,000 in United States, use 10m to clear in Nigeria. Please why? This is crãzy; what are we paying for exactly? Cos koyemi oo.” His post reflects the growing frustration among Nigerians who are grappling with the financial strain of living in a country where inflation and high import duties are making life increasingly difficult.

The actor didn’t hold back, expressing his despair over the situation.

At this point, just use knife kee us. Cos the fvckkk,” he wrote, capturing the hopelessness many feel as they struggle to make ends meet.

Sanni’s concerns echo those of other celebrities who have spoken out about the economic challenges facing the nation. Veteran Yoruba actor Saidi Balogun recently questioned the effectiveness of price control and regulatory agencies in Nigeria. He voiced his concerns over the lack of measures to cushion the effects of inflation, noting that the situation is spiraling out of control.

Similarly, actress Lizzy Gold recently lamented the skyrocketing price of petrol, now at N1000 per litre, and the soaring cost of foodstuffs in the market. She questioned how ordinary Nigerians are surviving in such harsh conditions, pointing out the widespread hunger, increasing insecurity, and daily kidnappings. Gold made a heartfelt appeal to the President, urging him to take immediate action to alleviate the suffering of the citizens.

In a related post, Destiny Etiko applauded Nigerians for their resilience amid the economic turmoil. She praised the nation’s citizens for their patience, noting that despite the severe challenges, Nigerians continue to wake up with smiles on their faces and push through each day. Etiko declared Nigerians the most patient people in the world, dubbing them the true VIPs in light of their endurance.
