Empress Njamah Responds to Criticism Over Outfit, Offers a Sharp Comeback

Nollywood actress Empress Njamah recently found herself at the center of online controversy after a moral critic slammed her choice of outfit at a birthday event.

Empress had shared a video on her Instagram page, showing her wearing a net top to a party that had children in attendance. The critic, displeased with her attire, accused her of setting a bad example for young girls present at the event.

The critic commented,

It’s unwise dressing ungodly at this age. More unwise knowing you’re in the midst of kids yet wearing a net top to flaunt your bra, wearing tight to reveal the shape of your yansh publicly. Most unwise not knowing you’re teaching the girl-kids bad lifestyle. Avoid being a bad mum and role model. Watch what you wear for a sane society.”

In response, Empress Njamah sarcastically asked the critic to send her money to purchase clothing that he deemed appropriate. She replied,

Uncle, just send me money, and I promise I will shop for the clothes you like. I will buy Bubu from @realhouseofempress, I promise, and thanks for taking out time to study the dressing.”

The exchange didn’t end there. The critic responded again, advising Empress to avoid online begging and to take his advice seriously. He wrote, “I’m not Chike. Avoid online begging. Take corrections. Don’t be unwise.”

This isn’t the first time Empress Njamah has had to deal with public criticism. Previously, she responded to a fan who commented on her Instagram, praying for her to get married soon, given her age. The fan’s comment implied that Empress was getting older and needed to settle down. Empress clapped back, suggesting the fan focus on her own life and understand that life doesn’t revolve around marriage.

Empress stated,

Life does not begin and end with marriage, and please, young woman looking older than your age because of your dark heart, use your bitter fingers and unfollow me sharp.”

Empress Njamah’s bold responses reflect a growing trend among celebrities who are increasingly standing up against online trolls and critics. Many, like Tonto Dikeh and Diane Russet, have similarly defended their choices, whether it be about their outfits or their personal lives.
