Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for Lead, Research & Strategy at Africa Plus Partners Nigeria Limited in Lagos. The role involves conducting research, analyzing data, developing strategies, and writing reports to support infrastructure fund management and project execution. The Lead, Research & Strategy will work closely with the investment team to enhance the value and performance of managed funds.
Research:
- Provide relevant industry research news summary to Executive Management and Investors on a regular basis
- Examine and assess economic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial statements and various other indicators and factors to determine suitable investment strategies for leadership decision making
- Manages providers/research partners (NPD, Qualtrics, Tableau), deploys surveys/ reporting and continuously perfects data collection and research methodologies to strengthen results
Stakeholder Management:
- ·Acts as point person for credit proposals and deals in market, including responding effectively to questions from Risk as well as Investors
- Providing timely feedback on the status of clients’ application and advises on the company’s investment policies, processes, and procedures
- Brief members of the Company’s Board of Directors and management on proposed investment strategies, implementation and the overall performance of the company’s assets & investment portfolio.
Product Development
- Assisting with the development of new and innovative financing structures
- ·Compile advisory reports and make informed recommendations on new investment opportunities and funds that could enhance or diversify portfolios
- ·Providing end-to-end support to the Head of Deal Analysis and Investor Relations on research, deal analysis and due diligence on projects
Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field
- Certified Financial Analyst certification or CFA Level II assessment passed
- Master’s degree in finance
- An MBA from a credible institution
- Associate member of any of the accounting professional body (ICAN, ACCA, CIS, etc.)
- At least 5 years’ post-graduate finance/banking experience, largely gained within a Leveraged Finance context or professional services environment
- Experience in research and strategy in a consulting firm or financial sector an added advantage
- Analytical Skills, Statistics, and Research abilities
- Strong Communication and Report Writing skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical software
- Experience in research methodologies and report generation
- Knowledge of infrastructure finance and project management is a plus
