Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma shares his secret to a successful marriage, attributing his happy union to a mix of luck and mutual effort with his wife, Kris Ugboma.
In a recent interview with VJ Adams, Bovi revealed that, while many may think marriage requires careful planning, he believes luck plays a major role before anything else.
One day at a time, and don’t take yourself too seriously,” Bovi advised. He emphasized that no marriage is perfect, but perfection comes from embracing imperfections. According to him, he feels fortunate to be in a marriage that works, as he’s someone who wouldn’t stay in a place that isn’t conducive.
Reflecting on his marriage journey, Bovi noted that his relationship with Kris Asimonye Ugboma, whom he married in 2009, was largely due to luck and natural compatibility. He admitted that although he never planned to have three children, his family has grown beyond his expectations, and he considers himself lucky to have found a partner who shares the same commitment to making their marriage work.
The couple has certainly had their share of memorable moments, including a unique wedding vow renewal ceremony held on water, officiated by mariners. The video of the event went viral, leading fans to nickname them “Mr and Mrs Mariners.” Bovi’s recent gesture of gifting his wife a brand-new Mercedes-Benz for passing her driving test further showcased their deep bond, with Kris expressing her excitement over the early birthday surprise.
