Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred the pot once again by boldly proclaiming himself the best actor in Africa. His declaration on Instagram has sparked a wave of reactions, with many fans and critics weighing in on his self-assertion.

In a recent Instagram post, Yul Edochie stated, “Many people are saying that Yul Edochie is the best actor in Africa. Actually, they’re right. I AM.” This confident assertion has drawn mixed responses from fans and social media users alike, fueling a heated debate about his standing in the industry.

Critics were quick to voice their disapproval. One user, Obirin Meta, dismissed Edochie’s claim, saying, “Who and who? Best actor my foot. Always looking for a way to wake your dead career. Shameless amu bingo.” Similarly, Zicoco2024 referred to him as a “failed actor,” while Swiz5151 argued, “On this particular topic eh, I no go support you. You’re not even in the top 20 best actors in Africa.”

Some fans questioned the basis of his claim, with Ebiala Adoris asking, “Dey play. What makes you the best actor in Nigeria?” Another user, Josebeth Ibrahim, cautioned, “Pride go kpai you,” suggesting that Edochie’s confidence may be misplaced.

Interestingly, veteran actor Kanayo Kanayo recently praised Yul, acknowledging his talent. In a video clip shared on social media, Kanayo stated, “Whether one likes Yul or not, you can’t take away the fact that he is a great performer who knows how to use his voice and body to express his artistic mien and candor.”

This is not the first time Yul has made headlines with his bold claims. Just a week ago, he boasted that he and his wife are the most entertaining couple on social media after their Facebook post garnered 1.5 million views. Yul has also expressed his enjoyment of being the center of attention, admitting that he doesn’t want the chatter about him to stop.

Additionally, earlier this year, Yul claimed to be the originator of the popular phrase “Nwunye Odogwu,” which he used to praise his second wife, Judy. He noted that the name has gained traction, with many adopting it. He also took credit for the viral slogan “No gree for anybody,” asserting that he believed he was the one who popularized it after hearing others say so.
