Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has opened up about a personal experience that fueled her latest cinema project, Queen Lateefah.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Wumi shared images of her injured hands and leg, revealing the challenging journey she faced just two days before the movie shoot.

Wumi recounted how she slipped and fell heavily in her room, leaving her unable to stand. Her nanny had gone for a break, and she was alone with her son, who was screaming in panic. Despite the pain and fear, her determination to bring Queen Lateefah to life kept her going.

She explained that although her knees were broken and her hands still bleeding, the motivation to complete her long-time dream was stronger than the pain. Wumi pushed through the difficulties and resumed shooting, even though her scars were fresh. Her team worked hard to ensure that her injuries wouldn’t show on camera.

Reflecting on the experience, Wumi shared an inspiring message:

I learned that a scar is a sign of strength; just so you know, a STAR, not a SCAR.”

She encouraged her fans to see Queen Lateefah in cinemas nationwide, promising they would love the movie.
