Vice President Kashim Shettima announced on Thursday that President Bola Tinubu’s government is determined to close the infrastructural gaps in the South-East.

Shettima, who made the declaration while opening the 5th edition of the Expanded National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Clinic in Enugu, also promised that the federal government would endeavour to put a stop to the erosion and infrastructural problems in the zone.

The Vice President also announced N150,000 awards for exceptional Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in Enugu.

He praised Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for his outstanding accomplishment in transforming the people of Enugu and the state from the ruins of poverty to the current condition of economic prosperity.

He was pleased that Mbah’s government has positively influenced the face of Enugu State’s infrastructure in such a short period in office.

He said:

“Until the emergence of Governor Peter Mbah, Enugu was a sleepy town that didn’t even have water supply.

“So, Your Excellency, we want to thank you. We want to commend you. We want to identify with you. Honestly, I’m quite pleased to be in your midst this afternoon. We’ve had some very fruitful discussion with the honourable speaker.”
