Adedeji Adeleke, the billionaire father of music star Davido, has revealed plans to build the largest power plant in Nigeria.
Speaking at the Seventh Day Adventist General Conference Annual Council, the business mogul announced that his family currently generates 15% of the electricity needed for Nigeria. He also revealed that the new power plant, being constructed in collaboration with Chinese engineering firms, will be completed by January.
Adeleke shared his passion for the electricity business, stating,
In Nigeria, I am in the electricity business; I own a power plant, and presently, I generate about 15% of the electricity made in Nigeria. I am building, and almost completed by January by the grace of God, a new power plant to be the biggest in Nigeria.”
Following the announcement, social media was abuzz with reactions. One user, Black Diamond, commented, “Moneyman,” while another, Prophet Alhaji Frisky, wrote, “Adeleke money confirm.”
Another user added,
Just a reminder to y’all haters that Davido is also a director in this company. Davido is about to get a new set of enemies with this info. Una mind no go touch ground.”
In addition to his ambitious plans in the energy sector, Adedeji Adeleke has also been active in philanthropy and education. In August, he donated N1 billion to a church in Lagos in honor of his late mother during a Thanksgiving service. Additionally, in July, he offered support to first-class engineering graduates by promising them employment opportunities at his Pacific Energy plants in Ondo or Ogun State after completing their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
His sons, Davido and Ayoola Adeleke, have also expressed pride in their father’s accomplishments. Davido took to Instagram to call his father “My Hero,” while Ayoola reflected on working with his father for over 23 years, praising his success in business and life.
