Nollywood actor Alesh Sanni has issued a stern warning to Nigerians who rely on agencies to secure visas. In a recent message, Sanni cautioned against using life savings for such services, as it could leave them devastated if they are denied a visa.
He questioned the logic of spending millions on travel only to face rejection, urging people to be wise and avoid risking their entire financial stability.
Guys, please, I won’t say this again, walai. Don’t use all your life savings for an agency to try for a visa. Please stop this. Just try it with good documents, and don’t use millions for travel. Chai, this isn’t guaranteed. Where do you want to start from when you spend ₦20 million to travel and get denied? Like how? Please be wise,” the actor warned.
Sanni emphasized that visa agents cannot guarantee a visa and advised people not to be fooled by promises from agencies. He further noted that the current economic situation makes it even harder to secure visas, as embassies are being more stringent in their approvals.
No be agent go give you visa o. Please be wise, don’t be foolish,” he added.
Sanni also addressed the economic struggles, highlighting that many embassies aren’t issuing visas as freely as people think. He urged Nigerians to be careful, warning them against falling for scams.
This warning comes a few weeks after Sanni expressed his frustration over Nigeria’s economic challenges. He lamented how it costs $1,200 in the United States to make a purchase, but clearing the same amount in Nigeria costs ₦10 million. The actor questioned why such discrepancies exist and expressed anger over the financial burden placed on Nigerians.
In 2023, Sanni also called out a Lagos State hospital for a power outage that lasted two hours during a visit to a family member. He expressed disbelief at the lack of electricity despite the hospital’s high charges, calling the situation “insane.”
