Newly married Nigerian singer and socialite, Yhemo Lee, has shared his perspective on true love, targeting his message at men.
Taking to his Snapchat, Yhemo Lee stated that a woman who truly loves a man shouldn’t be asking him for money; instead, she should be giving him money as a gesture of real affection.
Any girl wey love you no suppose dey ask you for money. Na she suppose dey give you. That’s love,” he declared, offering what he believes is a unique definition of love.
Earlier this year, Yhemo Lee also addressed men, advising them to refrain from womanizing amid the country’s current economic hardships. He emphasized how difficult it has become to maintain a lifestyle of chasing women in such a challenging financial environment.
In a similar vein, several other Nigerian celebrities have shared their relationship advice. Yoruba actress Opeyemi Aiyeola urged people not to enter relationships solely with their hearts and souls but to use their brains too. She warned against being manipulated and advised individuals to protect their mental well-being.
Caroline Danjuma also chimed in, advising women to become financially independent and well-developed. She pointed out that in Nigeria, men often hold more power if they are wealthier, and women should love themselves enough to be selective about who they allow into their lives. She further advised not to rush into relationships to avoid regret or emotional suffering.
On a different note, Toke Makinwa, addressing false narratives about her views on marriage, clarified that she doesn’t hate men or bash them. Despite her divorce, she still believes in the institution of marriage, lamenting how society today values things over people, leading to a mindset where individuals are seen as easily replaceable.
