Nigerian rapper and actor Falz took to Instagram to pay tribute to the fallen protesters of the 2020 EndSARS movement, marking the fourth anniversary of the tragic events on October 20th, 2020.
In his post, Falz acknowledged the bravery and ultimate sacrifice of these Nigerians, hailing them as “some of the bravest Nigerians that have ever lived.”
Falz wrote,
“We will never forget the real heroes. Some of the bravest Nigerians that have ever lived. We will never forget their ultimate sacrifice. For on this day, four years ago, they redefined patriotism. May their souls rest.”
Falz’s post brought back emotional memories for many Nigerians, especially as he was one of the prominent voices and faces of the EndSARS protest. During the movement, he not only led peaceful protests but also provided food for demonstrators. His efforts were part of a larger campaign to call for the disbandment of SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad), a unit of the Nigerian Police known for its brutality.
