Angela Okorie recently issued a public warning, urging people to choose their battles carefully. In a social media post, she reminded everyone that “we are all pencils in the hands of God” and should be mindful of who we engage in conflicts with.
Her message seemed to reference the recent turmoil between actress Halima Abubakar and Apostle Johnson Suleman.
The controversy began when Halima Abubakar accused Apostle Suleman of causing her years of hardship following an alleged affair. She claimed the experience led to severe spiritual challenges, including unexplained physical symptoms like persistent stomach swelling and pain. Although she later issued an apology to the Apostle, he responded by requesting that people stop calling him regarding the issue.
Angela Okorie has since shown her support for Suleman, despite not being directly involved in the situation. Meanwhile, Abubakar’s troubles have escalated, as she was recently suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on accusations of leaking sensitive information about fellow actors to bloggers. In response, Abubakar filed a lawsuit against the AGN, seeking compensation.
This series of controversies marks a significant shift in Halima Abubakar’s once-thriving career. Known for her roles in films such as Okafor’s Law, Men in Love, Secret Shadows, and Ladies Gang, she was recognized for her talent and had garnered several awards before these recent challenges.
