Nigeria Rapper Speed Darlington Rekindles Feud with Burna Boy

Despite his recent arrest and detention in Abuja, Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has once again threatened Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.

Last week, Burna Boy filed a cyberstalking petition against Speed Darlington, leading to his detention by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team. Following three days in custody, Darlington was released on bail after meeting police conditions. His mother previously appealed to Burna Boy for her son’s release, attributing the arrest to Burna Boy and his team.

However, in an Instagram Live session post-release, Speed Darlington showed no signs of restraint, vowing to retaliate against Burna Boy. He claimed the singer would eventually “beg for his account number” after he was done with him.

The escalating drama between the two artists has sparked strong opinions online. Some social media users reacted critically:

  • Cinnamon_Rowlz: “Who the gods want to kill, they first make mad.”
  • Ochany4real: “I thought his mum begged for him? He’s still talking.”
  • Queen Glowray: “Nobody is shouting oppression now. By the time Burna takes it up, everyone will be shouting the rich are oppressing the poor.”
  • Teeto Olayeni: “You people are finding all of these funny. I hope when Burna responds or takes action, it will still be funny.”

This feud has a complex history, with Speed Darlington previously questioning Burna Boy’s connections with American rapper P. Diddy. He noted that after Burna Boy’s meeting with Diddy, his career seemed to reach new heights, culminating in a Grammy win. Darlington suggested that Burna Boy’s rise might have been influenced by this connection.
