Former Big Brother Naija housemate Angel Smith has spoken out amid controversy involving her boyfriend Soma’s ex-girlfriend, Hilda. The drama unfolded after Hilda accused Soma of abuse, releasing evidence to back her claims.
Hilda alleged that Soma had physically abused her, instilling fear that prevented her from speaking up until now. She claimed that confiding in her mother led to action being taken and criticized Soma for pretending to be innocent.
Hours after these accusations surfaced, Angel took to Twitter to share her own side of the story, revealing the harassment she has faced. According to Angel, Hilda not only slut-shamed her but also released her phone number to friends who harassed her late at night. Angel expressed her frustration at being portrayed as the villain in every situation, even when she is clearly a victim.
“It is Angel always. I have already accepted that the only time I will be loved is when I actually die,” Angel wrote, expressing the emotional toll the situation has taken on her. She questioned why she should be harassed and labeled a villain, despite having done nothing to insult or discredit Hilda’s story.
Angel emphasized that she has never belittled Hilda or questioned her experience but highlighted how unfair it is to be attacked when she herself is dealing with trauma. “You are so silly, I should get harassed?” she tweeted, adding that she had blocked Soma and moved on after the accusations surfaced, yet continued to be targeted.
Angel also criticized Hilda’s supporters for their double standards, pointing out that while she has never spoken ill of Hilda, she has been dragged through the mud and harassed. “I never insulted her, never shaded, never thought I was better than her,” she stated. She explained that when her anxiety was at its peak, she handled herself with grace but is now forced to defend her character.
