Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has taken to social media to call out toxic fans of May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie, for mocking her plight.
The actress recently revealed that her clothing store was targeted in a robbery, resulting in losses of nearly fifty million naira.
The unfortunate incident had been reported online, with rumors about the robbery circulating online even before Ogbodo confirmed the news. The mother of three lamented the harsh reality of running a business and the emotional toll it takes. She disclosed that her shop’s security company allegedly conspired with the police to release two suspects she had handed over, falsely claiming that her store had not been burglarized but instead had experienced a collapsed POP ceiling.
During an Instagram live session, Uche Ogbodo expressed her frustration with May Edochie’s supporters, whom she accused of taunting her over the robbery and calling it “karma” for supporting Judy Austin, Yul Edochie’s second wife. She disclosed that she had to block May Edochie because her fans relentlessly harassed her whenever she engaged with May’s posts. Uche observed that May seemed to take pleasure in the drama, which further fueled her annoyance.
Uche Ogbodo didn’t hold back in her Instagram stories, where she fiercely addressed May’s fans. She described them as a “toxic bunch of lunatics” and likened their behavior to that of passionate fanbases like Wizkid’s FC. She dismissed claims that the robbery was karmic retribution, emphasizing that misfortune is a part of life that everyone experiences at some point.
Toxic May Edochie fans!” she wrote. “You people don’t own this social media! No matter how toxic you get, you can never pass Wizkid’s FC. Stop watching my videos if it hurts so bad! Misfortune is life, and it’s rotational; it will surely swing. So wait for your own turn.”
Uche added that real karma wouldn’t affect an innocent person, highlighting the absurdity of blaming her victimization on her choice to stay out of the Yul and Judy drama. She made it clear that she will not be bullied into discrediting anyone publicly just to please others.
I blocked May because you lot wouldn’t let me like her pictures in peace. And she seems to enjoy the toxicity! If she can’t tell you to stop insulting and trolling an innocent person, what’s the need to continue to follow?” Uche asserted.
In her closing remarks, Uche demanded space to grieve her losses without being judged or harassed. “I will cry as much as I want! Tears my own, phone my own, platform my own! Allow me to cry. Am I begging you for money? Just leave me the hell alone,” she declared.
Ending her post, Uche Ogbodo wished everyone a sarcastic “Goodnight” as she noted that now everyone seemed to be upset. Her powerful and heartfelt statements have sparked further discussions on social media about the toxicity of fan culture and the challenges public figures face.
