Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has been gifted a stunning new electric vehicle (EV) from businessman Ned Okonkwo.

Taking to Instagram, 2Baba shared a video of himself test-driving the car, expressing his gratitude for the belated birthday present.

In his post, the singer reflected on the significance of sustainable alternatives, especially considering the rising cost of petrol. “This is highly recommended now wey petrol dey buga,” he wrote, humorously pointing out the benefits of an electric car. He also encouraged his followers to take things one step at a time, emphasizing that good things always have humble beginnings.

Earlier this year, 2Baba made headlines after parting ways with his long-time manager of 20 years, Efe Omorogbe. Efe expressed deep gratitude to 2Baba for their enduring friendship and the monumental achievements they shared. He described the music icon as one of the greatest Nigerian musicians and reflected on the pride he felt in their collaborative legacy.

2Baba, in turn, acknowledged that while every good thing comes to an end, his career’s successes were owed in large part to Efe and their team’s unwavering support.

In another heartfelt moment, 2Baba paid tribute to his late friend and colleague, Sound Sultan. He fondly referred to himself as a “new cat” and “upcoming artiste,” humorously vowing to keep pushing forward despite the new generation of artists. He honored Sultan’s memory by celebrating how far Nigerian and African music had come, fulfilling the dreams they once shared.

Last year, 2Baba revealed an unexpected aspiration: the desire to establish his own church, humorously titled “Straight To Heaven International Church of God Nigeria Limited (STHICOGNL).” While the idea was met with a mix of amusement and skepticism, many fans playfully speculated about the singer’s notorious reputation.
