Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has taken to her Instagram page to address men whose marriages have fallen apart.
In a heartfelt and lengthy post, she emphasized that men must take responsibility when their homes crumble rather than point fingers. According to Rita, a man’s actions, decisions, and leadership set the tone for the family’s stability.
Rita outlined key principles men should embody to maintain a strong household:
- Lead with Integrity: Set an example that inspires trust and respect.
- Listen with Empathy: Be understanding and supportive of your family’s emotional needs.
- Love Unconditionally: Show unwavering love and commitment.
- Communicate Effectively: Prioritize open and honest dialogue.
She stressed that women are intended to be helpmates and support systems, not scapegoats for a man’s failures. Rita reminded men that shifting blame does not resolve issues; instead, they must own their mistakes, learn from them, and work to strengthen their families.
“A broken home often starts with broken leadership. Take responsibility, mend the cracks, and forge a united family,” she urged.
Just a week prior, Rita Edochie had also criticized married men who maintain close friendships with their exes. She questioned the logic behind keeping an ex as a best friend, asking why they didn’t end up together if there was still a strong bond or value in the relationship. Rita slammed such behavior, highlighting the emotional and mental toll it can have on wives, likening the practice to “going back to their vomit.”
