Award-winning music star Wizkid has sparked controversy after throwing a subtle shade at his colleagues and haters. In a now-deleted tweet, Wizkid boldly declared 2024 as the year for the “death of the opps,” leaving many to wonder whether he was referring to his rivals in the music industry.
2024! Death of the opps!” the tweet read, followed by another in which he questioned whether his critics were left shocked by his success. “E shock u? Bury them with success. Biggest.”
Wizkid’s cryptic message stirred mixed reactions on social media, with some fans praising his boldness, while others criticized him for constantly fighting with himself. Some followers even noted that despite his success, Wizkid seemed far from at peace.
Only u be biggest, only you still no get peace of mind,” wrote one follower, while another added, “From being an Afrobeat legend to a nuisance.”
The tweet comes amid ongoing tension between Wizkid and fellow Nigerian artist Davido. In October, Wizkid declared himself the biggest artiste in the world, dismissing his competitors, including Davido, as “pussy boys.” The rivalry escalated when Wizkid spent over 24 hours throwing shots at Davido, claiming the latter’s career was “wack” and that his team was “broke.”
Wizkid and Davido’s public beef has been ongoing for years, with several instances of social media clashes. The most notable feud occurred in April, when Wizkid posted a video of Davido allegedly begging his side chick, which Davido retaliated to by accusing Wizkid of domestic abuse.
