Nigerian model and beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina has made her country proud by emerging as the first runner-up at Miss Universe 2024, held in Mexico on Sunday, November 17th.
This historic achievement marks Chidimma as the first Nigerian to claim the prestigious title of first runner-up, having competed against 120 contestants from around the world.
Chidimma, who had previously won Miss Universe Nigeria, represented Nigeria in the global competition, showcasing her strength, resilience, and grace. Despite a challenging journey that included controversy over her citizenship during her time in the Miss Universe South Africa pageant earlier this year, Chidimma rose above the adversities to shine on the global stage.
Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, was crowned Miss Universe 2024, while Maria Fernanda Beltran of Mexico placed as second runner-up, and Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand and Ileana Marquez of Venezuela followed as third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Her achievement has sparked celebrations on social media, with Nigerians and fans worldwide praising her determination and success.
