Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has taken to her Instagram page to express her frustration with people who preach about God but exhibit wicked and inconsiderate behaviour.
In her post, she highlighted the irony of how individuals who claim to love, worship, and talk about God often harbor deep-rooted hate, envy, and jealousy.
According to Rita, these people often present themselves as innocent and pious, carrying large Bibles, covering their heads, and singing hymns. However, their actions reveal a different side, as their hatred and jealousy are more toxic than poison. She cautioned her followers to be wary of such individuals, urging them to maintain distance from them as they are not authentic and could hurt anyone at the slightest opportunity.
IT IS EXTREMELY FUNNY AND DISHEARTENING AT THE SAME TIME HOW PERSONS WHO CLAIM TO LOVE, WORSHIP, AND TALK ABOUT GOD TEND TO BE THE MOST WICKED AND INCONSIDERATE SOULS HOVERING AROUND THE WORLD,” Rita wrote. “WHENEVER YOU SEE THEM, THEY ARE ALWAYS CARRYING THEIR BIG BIBLES, WITH THEIR HEADS TIGHTLY COVERED, LOOKING INNOCENT, SINGING EVERY NOW AND THEN LIKE GOOD PEOPLE BUT THEIR HATE, ENVY AND JEALOUSY KILLS FASTER THAN POISON.”
She went on to advise her fans to be careful around people of that nature, emphasizing the importance of keeping a safe distance and maintaining a “long spoon” with such individuals.
Rita Edochie has never been one to shy away from addressing issues, especially when it comes to hypocrisy and double standards. Earlier this year, she voiced her thoughts on Nigerians who criticized her for supporting Prophet Odumeje, only to later run after him for help. Rita expressed her belief that one should not criticize a shining light, as the very person they condemn today could be the pillar everyone turns to tomorrow.
Additionally, Rita has been vocal in her opinions about her nephew, actor Yul Edochie, and his personal life. In June, she tackled him over his message warning men against sleeping with other people’s wives, reminding people to practice what they preach.
Recently, Rita also directed her ire toward Judy Austin, Yul’s wife, who had been praying for him. She pointed out that the prayers of a “home-wrecker” would not reach God, asserting that God could distinguish between genuine prayers and those made with ulterior motives.
