Nollywood actor and fashion enthusiast, Alesh Sanni, has condemned the reported injustice surrounding a man sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for allegedly stealing a fowl in Osun State.
The case has sparked widespread outrage after the man’s mother appeared on actress Biola Bayo’s show to narrate her family’s ordeal. She pleaded for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s intervention, claiming the punishment was disproportionate.
While details of the case remain unclear, the Osun State government has vowed to investigate and address the matter, following the viral video of the man’s mother seeking justice.
Reacting to the reports, Alesh Sanni criticized the misuse of power in Nigeria, stating:
“People in power just do anyhow in this my country Nigeria…. Imagine someone just stole a fowl and was sentenced… Imagine 14 years in prison for just a fowl…. Please those in charge should be punished because whyyyyyy… This isn’t about government but about the evil people in power. You people have no fear of God. This is really sad…. It takes nothing chai… Nothing but freedom walai chai.”
This is not the first time the actor has shared his thoughts on societal issues. Earlier, Alesh Sanni posted an emotional video urging fans to prioritize self-care and turn to God amidst personal challenges. He emphasized that many people endure untold struggles behind their smiles.
