Nollywood actress Akinyanju Arike, famously known as Eyinju Eledumare, has voiced her frustration over the growing hypocrisy in the Yoruba movie industry.
Taking to Instagram, the usually reserved actress called out a colleague for privately acknowledging her posts but refusing to engage with them publicly. Her message sheds light on an ongoing pattern of insincerity among her peers, which she finds increasingly intolerable.
The actress clarified that her posts are not attempts to seek friendships or closure but rather an expression of her genuine feelings. She urged her colleagues to resolve any issues related to her posts instead of engaging in covert criticisms or insincere interactions.
In her words:
Posting you and writing how I feel about you doesn’t mean I want closure, or I’m looking to be your friend… If I post you on my timeline and you can’t comment because of something you’ve done to me, just tell me to take it down or ignore me, but don’t come to my DM to thank me privately.”
Akinyanju further criticized the pretentious attitude of some colleagues who follow her only to act insincerely later. She warned against such behavior, stating she would no longer tolerate being pushed to the limit.
