Nollywood star Yul Edochie is back in the spotlight, this time proclaiming himself the freshest actor in Africa.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a snapshot from the set of his new movie, The Last Goodman, and challenged his followers to name someone who surpasses him in freshness.
Yul Edochie, known for his bold declarations, posted:
“Name one actor in Africa who’s fresher than me. I’ll wait. Coconut head, back to work. Filming another masterpiece, THE LAST GOODMAN. With my man directing, @donsinglefilms.”
The post drew mixed reactions, with fans either supporting his claim or playfully challenging him.
This is not the first time Yul Edochie has tooted his own horn. In 2023, the actor declared himself the best actor in Africa, a title he claimed many others had bestowed upon him. His wife, Judy Austin, echoed his sentiments, praising his unmatched acting and directing skills. She crowned him the best director in Nollywood, urging the world to recognize his extraordinary talent.
Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo also acknowledged Yul’s prowess, commending his ability to use his voice and body to express his artistry.
Yul, the son of Nollywood legend Pete Edochie, has shared valuable lessons from his father. He recounted how his father critiqued his early directorial efforts but later praised his remarkable improvement. The elder Edochie’s advice became a cornerstone in Yul’s career development, earning him accolades from his father.
