Nigerian Afrobeat queen Tiwa Savage recently reminisced about her memorable short trip to Saudi Arabia, sharing heartfelt reflections on her illustrious career and connection with fans.
Taking to her Instagram and X pages, Tiwa shared a video highlighting moments from her visit to the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia. In her caption, she expressed gratitude to her long-time supporters while warmly welcoming new fans. She wrote:
Over a decade and every stage, every audience, every performance is still a moment. Saudi Arabia HolyLand. To my old fans, I love you; to the new ones, welcome. You came at the right time cause ‘This one is personal.’”
Tiwa hinted at the possibility of stepping back from music, revealing that she is working on what might be her final studio album. Acknowledging the toll of her decade-long career, she noted:
I’m tired. I’ve tried.”
Despite her contemplations, Tiwa’s passion for music and her audience remains evident in every performance.
Last October, Tiwa sparked conversations by confidently declaring herself among the “Big 3” of Afrobeat. Speaking unapologetically, she asserted that in a “talent for talent and mic for mic” comparison, she’s the big one. While the statement stirred mixed reactions, Tiwa appeared unbothered by critics, standing firm in her self-belief and artistry.
Tiwa Savage’s achievements solidify her legacy as one of Africa’s most influential female artists. In 2023, she made history as the first African artist to perform at the Coronation of a British Monarch, delivering a remarkable performance at King Charles III’s coronation ceremony.
Recalling the milestone, Tiwa expressed pride, sharing her plans to one day tell her son, Jamil, about her groundbreaking performance.
In April, Tiwa addressed rumours claiming she doesn’t support fellow female artists. Shutting down the claims, she highlighted her numerous collaborations with artists like Waje, Ayra Starr, Amaarae, Becca, and Simi, emphasizing her commitment to uplifting women in the industry.
