Nigerian businesswoman and influencer Laura Ikeji has sparked conversations with her recent Instagram story, where she addressed the accountability of wives of Yahoo boys.
In the post, Laura suggested that wives of men involved in internet fraud should face the same consequences as their partners when caught. She questioned her audience, asking,
Don’t you think so? Y’all enjoy with them but don’t wanna suffer with them? It’s for better or worse, baby girl. Go carry ya Birkin in jail.”
Her statement emphasized shared responsibility in relationships and took aim at the perceived hypocrisy of enjoying illicit wealth while evading the repercussions.
This isn’t the first time Laura Ikeji has shared her outspoken opinions. Last year, she stirred discussions with advice for women dealing with unfaithful husbands, urging them not to leave but to vent their frustrations instead.
In July, Laura lamented the high cost of influencer services, revealing that some influencers charge up to $10,000 per video or ₦3 million for an Instagram story. She humorously noted that influencers should be able to afford properties in Banana Island at such rates.
Earlier this year, Laura also called out a man who attempted to scam her store with fake bank alerts. She labeled his actions “demonic” and advised him to direct his energy toward the government, not her business.
The younger sister of Linda Ikeji remains a vocal and influential figure, often making headlines for her strong opinions, business ventures, and loyal stance toward her loved ones. In a previous post, she highlighted her unwavering loyalty to her husband, siblings, children, and close friends, reinforcing her commitment to standing by them through thick and thin.
