Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has opened up about her life philosophy, her parenting journey, and her advocacy for late singer Mohbad. In a recent interview with Seun Oloketuyi, the actress shared insights on her views about life, her children’s impact on her, and her regret over certain decisions regarding Mohbad’s death investigation.
Iyabo attributed her current blessings to her good deeds, expressing that both she and her children are benefiting from her positive actions. Reflecting on life, she emphasized self-reliance:
“When I die today, nobody is dying with me. When I am hungry, no one will give me their womb or intestines to quench my hunger. Every man is on his own.”
The actress also credited her daughter, Priscilla, for introducing her to TikTok, which has become a lucrative platform for her.
“Priscilla talked me into using TikTok. If I didn’t have her in my life, I would probably not have made so much money on TikTok.”
In the interview, Iyabo addressed her role in advocating for late singer Mohbad, expressing regret over pushing for his exhumation. While details of her advocacy remain significant, her reflection suggests a complex emotional journey in seeking justice for the late artist.
Iyabo highlighted the benefits of having children early, stating that it keeps parents feeling young. She also reflected on her influence over her daughter Priscilla’s life choices, including marriage.
In 2024, Iyabo had expressed her desire for Priscilla to marry young, a wish that came true when Priscilla married her Tanzanian boyfriend. The couple held their traditional and legal ceremonies in Tanzania and are preparing for their white wedding in Nigeria this April. Iyabo has promised to celebrate her daughter’s wedding in grand style, stating:
“I will shut down Lagos for Priscilla’s wedding.”
