Nollywood filmmaker and actress Eniola Ajao has taken to social media to celebrate her latest cinematic project, Owambe Thieves. Sharing stunning photos of herself and actor Zubby Michael, Eniola expressed pride in the movie’s successful premiere and teased its upcoming release.

The actress, who stars alongside Zubby Michael in the film, described their on-screen chemistry as unparalleled. She shared her excitement about the movie, which is set to hit cinemas nationwide on April 18.

A proper achalugo and her unrivalled Odogwu paranran. Cheta and Lola did a thing!!! The most-talked-about duo of the season! We showed up and showed out for the premiere of my latest project, OWAMBE THIEVES, looking like a million bucks.

OWAMBE THIEVES starts showing in all cinemas nationwide from April 18. Eyes haven’t seen, and ears haven’t heard the type of entertainment that is about to grace your screens. Get ready for a magical experience,” she wrote.

While excitement builds for the film’s release, the premiere event was not without its share of controversy. Videos circulating online revealed a tense moment between Eniola Badmus and Laide Bakare, which sparked discussions among fans.

Reports suggest that Laide accused Eniola of insulting her, despite her attempts to be friendly. Both actresses have yet to address the issue directly, leaving fans speculating about the incident.

This isn’t the first time Eniola Ajao’s premieres have made headlines for drama. During the launch of her cinema debut, Ajakaju: Beast of Two Worlds, in 2024, a heated exchange occurred involving Dayo Amusa, Bobrisky, and Femi Adebayo.

Crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, won the Best Dressed Female award at the event, sparking outrage among female attendees who felt overlooked. Actress Dayo Amusa jokingly called out Femi Adebayo for presenting the award to Bobrisky, escalating the situation further.

Despite the controversies, Owambe Thieves promises to be a must-watch. The movie, featuring Eniola Ajao and Zubby Michael in lead roles, explores themes of ambition, deception, and loyalty, set against the vibrant backdrop of Nigerian owambe culture.

As the April 18 release date approaches, fans eagerly await what Eniola Ajao describes as a “magical experience.”
