Taraba police arrest nine suspected kidnappers, recover arms

Taraba State Police Command has arrested nine individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition in the process.

The arrests were made during a series of coordinated operations across various locations in the state, aimed at curbing the rising incidents of abduction and armed violence.

According to the police, the suspects were apprehended following intelligence reports and surveillance activities that pinpointed their hideouts.

During the raids, law enforcement officers recovered several weapons, including rifles and ammunition, which are believed to have been used in previous criminal activities.

The Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, Emmanuel Simon, commended the efforts of the officers involved in the operations and reiterated the command’s commitment to eradicating criminal elements from the state.

He urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely and accurate information that could aid in the fight against crime.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation, with the police assuring the public that thorough investigations will be conducted to bring all perpetrators to justice.

This development comes amid increased efforts by security agencies in Taraba State to tackle the menace of kidnapping and other forms of criminality, ensuring the safety and security of residents.
