Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has shared her experience of dealing with online trolls who mocked the size of her engagement ring when she first posted it on social media.
During an appearance on media personality Chude Jideonwo’s Live Talk show, Kadiri recounted how people ridiculed her engagement ring after she announced her engagement.
The actress, known for her bold personality, revealed that she is not one to take insults lightly. In fact, she admitted to being a “petty” person at times. According to her, after receiving cruel comments about the size of her ring, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
I remember when I got engaged, I don’t know who sent me, I went and posted it o. Oh my God. These people started laughing at the size of my ring. They don’t know that I’m petty. So let me tell you, two weeks ago, I went back to that post and went through some of the people who insulted the size of my ring. I started going to their pages one after the other. I was in the mood! I wanted to go and say, ‘How far?'” she shared with a laugh.
Despite the online mockery, Ruth Kadiri has maintained a strong and happy marriage. Last year, she penned a heartfelt message to her husband to mark their 5th wedding anniversary. She expressed her gratitude, stating that she couldn’t have wished for anyone else to spend the last five years with. Her happiness and peace, she said, were derived from the love and support she receives from her marriage.
Ruth Kadiri’s marital journey began quietly when, in 2019, she revealed she was married by flaunting her wedding ring and adding her husband’s name, Ezerika, to her Instagram profile. While she had secretly wedded her husband in 2018, Ruth chose to keep the details of her marriage private for a while.
Since their marriage, Ruth and her husband have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, although the identity of her husband remains a mystery to the public.
Ruth Kadiri’s decision to keep her husband’s identity private has been the subject of much speculation. Investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has made controversial claims about the actress’s marital life. Olunloyo alleged that Ruth Kadiri is the second wife of her husband and that she deliberately keeps her marriage and family life out of the public eye. She further suggested that Kadiri’s decision to keep her husband’s identity a secret was to avoid public scrutiny related to her alleged competition with her husband’s first wife.
Despite these allegations, Ruth Kadiri continues to live her life on her own terms, keeping her family life private while maintaining her professional career and staying resilient in the face of online criticism.
