Nollywood star and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe is taking a trip down memory lane as the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) approach. Sharing heartfelt moments on Instagram, Aigbe reminisced about her 2014 AMVCA win and expressed gratitude for her continuous success in the industry.
The actress highlighted her nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Farmer’s Bride as a testament to her dedication, authenticity, and consistency. Despite over 20 years in Nollywood, Aigbe remains a trailblazer, earning accolades and staying connected with her audience.
Aigbe attributed her journey’s success to her passion and the support from her fans, collaborators, and colleagues. She emphasized how reinvention has kept her relevant in the competitive Nollywood industry.
Her career milestones extend beyond awards. In 2023, she made a significant mark with her first cinema production, Ada Omo Daddy, which grossed ₦187 million, becoming the third-highest-grossing Nollywood movie of the year. Following its success, her second project, Thin Line, grossed over ₦100 million, cementing her status as a force in cinema production.
