Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s daughter, Imade, has penned a heartfelt tribute to her uncle, renowned media mogul Dele Momodu, as he marked his 65th birthday.
Taking to her Instagram story, Sophia showered praises on her uncle, describing him as her “absolute favorite.” She expressed gratitude for his multifaceted roles in her life as a leader, father figure, teacher, special adviser, and therapist.
“Screaming Happy Birthday to my absolute favorite! Thank you for being a wonderful leader, father, teacher, special adviser, therapist, etc! You really do it all, sir. Imade & I love you so dearly.”
In addition to her story, Sophia shared a video featuring herself and her uncle, reaffirming her love with the caption, “Love you, birthday king.”
In 2023, during her fallout with Davido, Sophia unfollowed her uncle on social media, seemingly over his public support for the Adelekes. The tension arose when Dele shared a photo of Governor Ademola Adeleke with Imade Adeleke, sparking Sophia’s discontent.
Despite the misunderstanding, Dele Momodu maintained his affection for his niece. On her birthday that same year, he appealed for peace, prayed for her, and reaffirmed his love.
Throughout Sophia’s highly publicized disagreements with Davido, Dele Momodu has often acted as a mediator. Last year, when Davido filed a lawsuit seeking joint custody of their daughter, Imade, Dele defended Sophia’s role in the child’s welfare. He also revealed his efforts to mediate the conflict, involving prominent members of the Adeleke family, including Davido’s father, Deji Adeleke, and uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke.
