While AY’s message seemed filled with goodwill, it sparked mixed reactions online. Some social media users interpreted his post as a subtle dig at his ex-wife, Mabel Makun. Comments like “She must have a focused husband” and “Her husband must be a very good man to keep a good woman” filled the comment section, suggesting that the celebrant’s marital success might be tied to her husband’s efforts.
This is not the first time AY’s personal life has come under scrutiny. Earlier this year, during Yomi Casual’s 40th birthday celebration, AY openly reflected on his own marital challenges. He expressed pride in his brother’s commitment to his family while admitting his shortcomings in keeping his home intact.
The controversy dates back to April 2023, when AY confirmed his separation from his wife of nearly 20 years, Mabel. In his statement, he expressed regret over losing his family and admitted to compromising actions during the marriage.
