Professor Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on May 30, 2025, supervised the promotion examinations for staff of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
His involvement highlights JAMB’s growing role in conducting credible assessments for various government agencies beyond its core mandate of overseeing tertiary entrance examinations.
In a statement issued by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, Professor Oloyede expressed gratitude to TETFund, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), and other institutions that have partnered with JAMB to conduct staff evaluations.
He praised TETFund for taking proactive steps to ensure a transparent and merit-based promotion process, adding that JAMB remains committed to providing examination services that are reliable, efficient, and grounded in integrity.
Professor Oloyede also addressed concerns raised earlier in the year regarding challenges JAMB faced during one of its own examination cycles.
He took full responsibility for the shortcomings while emphasizing that accountability extends to all stakeholders, including the Board’s internal staff. He assured that any lapses identified would be investigated and addressed appropriately.
According to Oloyede, the TETFund exams were conducted smoothly, with no incidents of malpractice or leaks reported.
He noted that this reflects the effectiveness of the examination process and reinforces JAMB’s reputation for upholding high standards in assessment administration.
