Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has approved the constitution of new governing boards for several critical agencies and parastatals under the state government.

The move, announced on Thursday, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across key sectors.

The newly constituted boards will oversee agencies including the Ogun State Housing Corporation, Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme, and the State Universal Basic Education Board. Other affected agencies include the Ogun State Water Corporation and the State Library Board.

A government statement explained that the appointments were made after careful consideration of the nominees’ expertise, experience, and commitment to public service.

The governor emphasized that the reconstituted boards would play pivotal roles in driving his administration’s development agenda, particularly in areas of infrastructure, education, agriculture, and social services.

“The newly appointed board members have been carefully selected based on their proven track records and capacity to contribute meaningfully to our state’s development,” Governor Abiodun stated. “We are confident they will bring fresh ideas and renewed vigor to these important institutions.”

The appointments include professionals from various fields, with the governor mandating the new boards to prioritize accountability, innovation, and efficient service delivery. The statement added that the governing boards would be formally inaugurated in the coming days, after which they are expected to commence work immediately.
