Charles Idibia writes letter to 2Baba, urging his older brother to step back, heal, and reclaim his identity following recent controversies and a public apology video.
In a bold and emotional open letter, Charles Idibia, younger brother to music legend 2Baba, has shared his deep concern over the singer’s current state and the role he believes his partner, Natasha, is playing in it.
This comes shortly after 2Baba appeared in an Instagram video apologizing to his wife Natasha, his kids, and fans, saying he “messed up” after his comments on Nedu’s podcast went viral. In the podcast, 2Baba had stated that men are not wired to be sexually exclusive to one woman — a statement that sparked widespread backlash.
Now making headlines again, Charles Idibia writes letter to 2Baba, claiming the singer is no longer in control of his own life. He said his brother, known for his peaceful and kind nature, has been manipulated and dragged into chaos in the name of love.
“You have been captured — from inside the frying pan into an industrial furnace,” Charles wrote.
According to him, the woman in 2Baba’s life has taken over every part of his world — cloning his WhatsApp, deleting and replying to messages on his behalf, gaining access to his emails and finances, and even announcing a divorce he never confirmed.
“A girlfriend who forces you to eat your words from a podcast just because you didn’t mention her name is not a girlfriend. That is a psychotic fan, a cancerous leech,” he said.
Charles painted a painful picture of a man losing himself — abandoning his Lagos-based team, moving to Abuja, and following his partner around unfamiliar spaces he would normally avoid. He described it as a clear case of emotional control and manipulation, stating that his brother is “living in bondage.”
The heartfelt letter didn’t stop at criticism. It was also filled with love and a desperate plea.
“I beg you, bro, take a few months off. Get off social media. Let the music and business wait. Reflect, heal, and think of your seven children. They deserve a healthy and happy father.”
Charles reminded his brother of the wisdom and strategic thinking he’s always had, comparing life to a chessboard where it’s sometimes necessary to step back to see the full picture.
“This is that time,” he urged. “Before it gets too late.”
Charles’ open letter has struck a chord with fans and industry watchers, many of whom now share growing concern for the once-reserved and grounded 2Baba.
