Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved the appointment of seven new officials to head various government agencies, marking another step in his administration’s efforts to improve governance and public service delivery.

The announcement was made on Friday through a statement issued by Sunusi Bature, Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Kano Government House.

Among the key appointments is Dr. Bashir Muzakkar, who transitions from his role as Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital and Creative Economy to become the new Director-General of the Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency.

This move signals the administration’s continued focus on digital transformation and technological advancement in the state.

Other notable appointments include Kabiru Dakata as Director-General of the State Advert and Signage Agency and Dr. Fatima Abubakar as Director-General of the State Social Protection Agency.

Dr. Abubakar previously served as Special Adviser on Enlightenment and Social Mobilisation, bringing her experience in community engagement to her new role overseeing social welfare programs.

The governor also named Isyaku Umar-Kwa as Deputy Managing Director of the State Housing Corporation, Hamisu Danzaki as Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, and Isma’il Nasarawa as Provost of the Anti-Corruption Institute.

Also, Mohammed Gabasawa was appointed Commandant of the Corporate Security Institute.

Governor Yusuf expressed optimism that the new appointees would contribute significantly to his administration’s development agenda, particularly in sectors critical to the state’s progress.

These strategic placements come as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and drive effective service delivery across Kano State. The governor urged the new officials to demonstrate dedication and innovation in their respective roles to meet the expectations of Kano residents.
