Former Nigerian dancehall star Cynthia Morgan has reignited her long-standing dispute with former label boss Jude Okoye, while also slamming her former labelmate, May D, for what she described as an insensitive comment.

In a series of posts shared via her Instagram story, Cynthia called out May D for attempting to compare his own struggles in the music industry to hers.

“Very insensitive talk @mrmayd. I no send you. No ever call my phone to tell me say wetin you go through pass my own. Cause e no get the time wey I carry you sit down tell you wetin I go through.”

Turning her frustration back to Jude Okoye, the singer detailed how, in 2016, the label shared ₦20 million in profits, and she personally generated an additional ₦10 million. However, she claimed those figures could have been significantly higher had Jude not turned down several endorsement and performance opportunities on her behalf.

“Just double checked that the first money he shared in 2016 was ₦20 million, and then I went ahead to make an extra ₦10 million that same year. These returns would have been way more if he wasn’t turning down shows and endorsements.”

Cynthia alleged that Jude Okoye rejected a Kasaprenko endorsement deal, a Glo deal, a $30,000 concert offer in Uganda, and a ₦3 million Ogbe stadium show. She also accused another team member, Joy, of being complicit in blocking her growth.

“@judeengees, I remember the Kasaprenko and Glo endorsement you turned down, the $30,000 Ugandan show you turned down, and the Ogbe stadium ₦3 million show Joy turned down.”

The singer expressed that she stayed silent for years because she didn’t want to believe she had been taken advantage of by people she trusted. However, she stated that she can no longer keep quiet.

“I kept quiet because I didn’t want to agree I was played by people I thought were humans. Not anymore.”

Earlier this week, Cynthia had sent a direct message to Jude, accusing him of avoiding her attempts to meet in person. She said he had spent years speaking behind her back and dishonestly withholding money she earned.

Her conflict with Jude dates back to 2020, when she publicly accused him of taking control of her stage name, social media accounts, and YouTube page after she left his Northside Music label. Jude denied the allegations, showing evidence that he never seized her name or platforms. Still, Cynthia insisted he owed her ₦7 million and cursed him on social media, calling him “evil” and wishing him suffering.

In response to her renewed allegations, Jude Okoye posted a sarcastic tweet mocking the claims.

“Even Dangote still dey owe me ₦20 billion. If I shout long enough, e fit come true.”
