The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the inclusion of a 36-year-old Chinese national, Ji Zhou, on its wanted list over allegations of cybercrime and impersonation.

The anti-graft agency made the declaration through a public notice shared on its official social media platform, signed by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity.

According to the notice, Zhou was last known to reside at Uguwan Mai Keke in Kafanchan, located within Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The EFCC has appealed to members of the public with any information about the suspect’s whereabouts to immediately contact any of its offices across the country or report to the nearest police station.

The commission listed several operational zones where tip-offs can be submitted, including its offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, and Abuja.

The notice emphasised that citizens may also approach any nearby security agency to relay information that could lead to Zhou’s arrest.

While the EFCC did not disclose specific details about Zhou’s alleged crimes, the inclusion of cybercrime and impersonation charges suggests involvement in fraudulent online activities that may have targeted individuals or institutions.

The commission’s move aligns with its broader mandate to combat internet-related fraud and uphold cybersecurity laws in Nigeria.

This development comes as part of the EFCC’s ongoing efforts to track down individuals accused of financial crimes, regardless of nationality.

The agency has repeatedly warned that perpetrators of cyber-enabled fraud will face the full weight of the law. Public cooperation remains vital to the success of such investigations, as emphasised in the latest notice.

Authorities have assured confidentiality for informants while urging citizens to remain vigilant against suspicious activities that may be linked to cybercrime networks operating within the country.
